I believe that every student is capable of being successful in mathematics. Like anything we wish to accomplish, with the right tools, the right intent, and the right amount of work YOU can do math. I love math and so I hope to transmit that love to my students. If your child needs extra help, please make sure they get it. In my 14+ years of teaching some very challenging classes (like Trigonometry, AP Statistics, PreCalculus, etc), I am more sure than ever that a good work ethic is as important and probably more important than 'talent' in a particular subject. Also, I have found that not everyone will be good at or like all math topics. This doesn't mean that a student cannot move forward. Perhaps you can't factor a trinomial but you can find the mean, mode, median of a set of data better than anyone else in the class! Please never give up on yourself. Math is important. It is a 'gate keeper'. It can either open gates for you or close them. Working together I know we will have a successful year!
